pine.jpgThe Pineapple fruit originated in South America and was brought to Europe shortly after its discovery with attempts to try to cultivate it. Once they found out that it would not grow in Europe they introduced the fruit to growers in Asia, Africa and the South Pacific where the fruit would grow better. As of today, in the U.S., pineapples are only grown in Hawaii.  Pineapple has many wonderful benefits besides the taste. Pineapple contains bromelain, a complex mixture of substances that can be extracted from the fruit. It discourages arthritis inflammation, indigestion, clotting of blood, bruising, and harmful bacteria - even cancer and parasites. Pineapple is good for digestion issues and also contains vitamin C which can defend the body against free radicals. Free radicals damage normal cells, promote heart disease and artery plaque build up.

tumeric.png

Tumeric has been used for centuries in India and south asian countries as a spicy seasoning in many dishes and as a medicinal herb for those suffering from ailments. While the taste is what makes the dishes famous, the health benefits of Tumeric can not be ignored.

While Tumeric is the root that is praised, we should actually be praising a poly phenol that is inside Tumeric that attributes to its amazing health abilities. Curcumin is its name. This ingredient only makes up a small part of tumeric, under 5% and that can change by the weight and type of tumeric you have.

Curcumin has been studied in mice as a cancer fighting substance and has proven to be effective against all cancers in labs. It has shown that it  helps cells bind to toxins so that they can be excreted from the body. It has also shown cardiovascular benefits, anti-inflammatory, improves brain function, lowers the risk of brain diseases, lowers the risk of heart disease, can improve arthritis and has also been shown to delay aging and fight age related disease.

Tumeric also contains manganese, iron, vitamin B6, fiber, copper and potassium. Its values are low per teaspoon but with juicing you could easily increase these values by 500%.

On top we added Bee Pollen. Bee Pollen is used widely in Chinese medicine for energy and as a nutritive ingredient. It is incredible when taken in small quantities to fight allergies. It also contains complete proteins, can stimulate weight-loss, can help protect against flu and cold viruses (antiviral properties) and can aid in recovery from chronic illness.
